Dementia Friendly Mendota

The Dementia Friendly Mendota Task Force brings together an exceptionally broad coalition of community members. The group includes representatives from first responders, libraries, local government, healthcare organizations, and partners at the local, state, and national levels.

Mendota's Tasks & Goals:

  • Created ID Cards to assist first responders in interacting safely with individuals living with dementia.

  • Designed a community-based Dementia Resource Guide to connect families and caregivers with vital services and information.

  • Continued sector-specific improvements guided by Dementia Friendly America tools.

  • Provides community information training tailored for local businesses and organizations. 

  • ​Ongoing Dementia Friendly Mendota talks conducted by training local Dementia Champions.

  • ​Seeks to create a Mendota Memory Cafe, Support Group, and Adult Daycare Center. ​​​

Join us in helping to make Mendota a more dementia-friendly community!

It's our goal to help raise awareness and become a more inclusive and welcoming community for those living with dementia and their loved ones. Dementia Friendly Mendota partners can provide free training to organizations, faith communities, and businesses. As a certified Dementia Friend, you'll learn how to better support those living with dementia. You'll also receive a Dementia Friendly Mendota window cling for your organization or business along with our newly created Mendota Resource Guide

Dementia Friendly Mendota Champions Planning Committee meets monthly on the first Thursday.
